While replacing my turn signal I noticed some old dried grease on both sides of the horn contacts. What should I replace it with? Does it need to be conductive?

The factory manual says "Lightly grease contact ring for signal horn. Use electrical contact grease." What they fail to clarify is, do they mean conductive or not. With a proper mechanical electrical contact, non-conductive dielectric grease is the proper use. Using conductive grease(?) will lead to spurious undesired connections.
If dielectric grease stops the electrical connection from functioning then you do not have a proper contact. |
