I wonder if the red car was somebody's attempt to adapt a body kit to the street, or a race car build that never made it.

I noted the 'No Bid notice on the windshield. I think this means the 914 can be dismantled for parts/ but the car (although a Salvage) might not be able to be sold.
At a local SFValley LKQ pick-a-part, I spotted a blue '75 and dismantled some parts; then I went into their office to offer a cash price to buy the car. The counter person asked if I noticed the 'No Bid on the windshield>> then says 'The Boss indicates Not For Sale. I made a final offer with more cash, and the guy says to call at 8am and discuss with the Boss...which I did.
Boss says that the car was crushed at 7am that morning. Must have been the Conditions set by the insurance Co. they received the 914 from. Sad to hear.
