I have been asking questions to Ai to diagnose some issues and recently to ask about the oil temperature wire routing etc. I also asked the forum. I do know that there is a way to load the forum into AI so that it will search this forum and all the other information that is available and give results immediately. But like anything on the cloud or the internet, there are some mistakes. For example last week AI told me the wrong layout for the cylinders. It said cylinder #1 and #2 were on the right side the passenger side.
Although we have a ways to go AI is missing the dialog that we have with each other on this forum. I am relatively new compared to most of you but I am truly grateful for the long distance friendships of people I have never met and probably never will. AI will never give us that personal touch and expertise that you all possess. Thanks for all you all do! |

The problem with feeding AI the forums is that quite a few times we are wrong and only later is the information corrected. Certainly there is all kinds of good stuff on here but you need a human brain to figure out whether something is the real answer or not. There is no voting up a solution in this forum.
As a college professor I am a bit anti-AI though. God help me if I have to look at another AI generated lab report. |

The sooner people understand that there is no i in AI the better.
I prefer ML (Machine Learning) because that's what it really is. Not intelligence. Even a toddler will learn from their mistakes and remember them and the solutions to them. AI models do not learn or remember once trained. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/type.gif) |

Why use AI when 914World will do (it better)?
After all, it's probably getting that info from here anyway. |

None of the current AI solutions does a good job at diagnosing old car problems other then the bare basics. Once you get into specifics (and specifics are important) the model falls apart and the AI ill just compliment you and say something that sounds reasonable.
AI is good for a lot of things - and it will eventually be good for working on cars. But that day isn't come yet. I suspect it will be a while before it does. Zach |
