I have always wanted plaid or tartan seats in my '73, even though they weren't offered until '75-'76. So my buddy and I went a little rogue and added a Westfalia (inspired)Blue/Green Plaid! I think it pairs nicely with the Olympic Blue exterior and adds some character. Next will be to add the same material to the dash face.

I like it. Seems like a good match to the exterior.

Maybe some candy painted Fuchs are in your future to match the green?

I'm usually a stickler for originality, but this looks really good. Blends so well that you wouldn't know it wasn't factory. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

"Maybe some candy painted Fuchs are in your future to match the green?"

That's a great idea DennisV!

Thanks everyone for the positive feedback! I am usually a stickler for originality as well, but I wanted to have fun with it before it gets fully restored in retirement. So for now, I am taking some of the best styling ques from all the different years. With that in mind, I added the early front bumper, the negative Porsche script, the Gas Burner (wannabe) wheels, and the plaid interior!

Glad to find another 73 1.7L here in my area, and definitely suggest you join us for Okteenerfest this fall. If you are ever in the Lexington/Georgetown area look me up. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif)
