Background...bought my 6 10 years ago with a 2.7 and the original 2.0. The 2.7 went away. Getting ready to install original trannie and a 2.4 MFI engine. 2.4 engine does not have a flywheel. Original 2.0 engine has a later flat 6 bolt flywheel (which confuses me) from a 915. The 914 trannie should have the 215 dished flywheel with the starter ring on it, not the flat 225 flywheel. This car was auto crossed most of its life. Was a 225 later flywheel, PP and TO bearing a common upgrade to 914 trannies for bigger engines back in the day? Here is the flywheel...

You're right.. you need a flywheel and clutch...
Does not need to be a 914-6 flywheel... Because the timing marks are going to be off because of the 2.4 crankshaft.. |
