I have a brown wire hanging under the dash and I don't know where it should connect. The free end has an odd terminal on it. The other end is connected to the top of the speedometer. There is a second brown wire connected to the same spot on the speedometer.
On my wiring diagram, the only brown listing I see for the speedo is From: GND_Gauge_Daisy_Chain, To: GND_INST_PANEL. This doesn't really help me. Any ideas? ![]() |

The connector is added on, not original. Maybe for radio ? There are many ground males on the back of the instruments and brown jumper wires between. Make certain each gauge is grounded. |

That's part of the ground daisy chain I believe. It's for a radio. If everything else works you can remove it. BTDT. Notice the male conversion tab.

Ground "daisy chain" means it runs from one component through another to get grounded. Rather than direct to a ground point? On my electrical diagram, I only find one reference to GND_Gauge_Daisy_Chain and that is on the speedo. Does that suggest this wire should go to another gauge? The diagram says it goes to GND_INST_PANEL, which appears to be a single wire terminating 7 different sources. I have not been able to find this GND_INST_PANEL location. |
