Looking for help with recommendations for local service in Toledo, OH area. Local "Porsche expert" (over the border in MI) that I know of has declined. Another local mechanic did some work recently but still not running right. Search of this forum yielded two names, one who has passed and message sent to the other.

Did you try Munks in Waterford MI? Not exactly local but not that far either to get to a shop that does a lot of Porsche and aircooled work.

If you are still running injection it's going to be hard to find anyone willing AND knowledgeable.

Shouldn’t be an issue at Munks at least as they were when I last lived near them. They do work on lots of vintage D-jet, L-jet, and CIS.

The problem there is getting anything done quickly. They usually have a backlog of vintage bus, 411/412, and vintage 911s just waiting for service. 914s pop up there from time to time.

I’ve been gone from the area for 3 years now so hard to say if they are losing techs or have the same backlog but they are one of the few shops in the Midwest that would even be capable.

Hi Guys (IMG:style_emoticons/default/popcorn[1].gif)

The Toledo 914 guy should contact this 914 shop when in the downstate area.
Arbor-Motion Ann Arbor MI
Tyler Berry is a young guy that did all my recent FI repairs. Also suggest you join the local PCA Rally Sport Ann Arbor MI guys where all the activities are. Many 914 guys hang out there.

FYI: Need some help finding a home for this SOLIDO 914-6 gift that will go to someone that needs it. Suggestions??

Tom in Northern MI (Petoskey) with lots of snow.

Thanks to all for the responses. The shop mentioned in the original post (found here with a search) got back to me and we had a good conversation. If that does not move forward the Ann Arbor shop is certainly an option. The logistics of the shop to the south appear better than a trek to AA.
