I'm in the process of restoring my tail lights. The reflective coating inside the housings is faded out pretty good so what is a good way to recoat ? maybe spray paint or reflective tape? Thanks

I’ve been considering how to restore mine. They can be rechromed, which I’m sure is expensive, but I’ve not yet checked on the price. The “chrome” paint isn’t much more than silver paint. I’m thinking chrome car wrap might work.

Do "Spokes" LEDs need the reflective housing?

They don’t. The led’s are aimed outwards for max visibility. They are awesome.

Revell Chrom Spray
Someone is using it on their 911 housings and it looks quite impressive.
Look over at early911sregistry under liquid chrome for pics. would post a link but don't know what i'm doing

I used silver spray paint with excellent results. I did it close to 15 years ago and the lights are bright and uniform.

Another vote for "chrome" spray paint. Not quite a mirror finish but very reflective, and enough to bounce light out through the red lens.

We restored several sets by sending to https://www.gcartrim.com/

It was about $45 per housing, but came back looking stock. This was 2016 pricing… but about to send another batch.
