Hi there, i have been lurking here for a while now trying to learn as much as i can prior to purchasing a restoration project. Glad to say i have found a suitable candidate so will be asking lot's of questions when the project starts.

Is there a way of finding out where my car was first registered.? I am led to believe it to be a Euro delivered car due to the lack of the front fender lights. Can i get a COA anywhere.?

Any idea if these two welded plates on the firewall are factory.? What would they be used for.?

Many thanks

Dave

You might want to check the VIN registry on this site and see if it was already registered once… What year, what displacement? The body and motor numbers would also be helpful.

And no, those welded plates in the engine compartment don’t look factory.

I’ll bet those are anchors for a driver side shoulder harness.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/welcome.png) Yup, not factory and I agree regarding mounting for shoulder harness set-up. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Thanks for the replies and the welcome. I thought that about the welded plates for a Harness although they looked a little to close together.?

Regarding the car, it's a 1971 model year, 1.7 in SIgnal Orange. I checked the database here, it is not listed. Chassis is: 4712912960.
