Not sure if this is already posted someplace, but I could not find anything. I came across this last night, and thought some may find this build interesting. Looks like he has already completed the same swap on a VW Beetle.

1.8 liter engine, 125 hp, a little lighter but lots of fab needed. Not a particularly exciting redline. Meh.

Always impressed by the ways people come up with to destroy a 914. The gold wing power plant isn’t the worst conversion idea out there. But as always, I appreciate them making the survivors more valuable.

If someone would make up a proper tranny adapter and loose the chain drive that would be an interesting conversion.

Spec13 Motorsports makes a sprocket output to driveshaft adapter for Hayabusa engines for conversion to use in Miatas and Exocets. I'm no fabricator, but one could easily envision using a Miata rear diff. with custom axles and custom driveshaft to install a Busa engine in a 914. Seems like you could adapt many of the Spec13 parts to make it work.

I do realize a Goldwing 6 is different than a Hayabusa, but if you're going to the trouble to convert, why not get insane rpm's and 190hp?
