I need your help.
I'm in the process of converting a 1.8 to a 911s 2.7 cis. I'm using a 914/6 Maddogs bulkhead motor mount: https://maddogsmotorsports.com/shop/ols/pro...ead-motor-mount I know it will be difficult to fit the air filter and throttle body from the CIS, but I don't want to cut the trunk bulkhead. Please advise how you fit the entire CIS injection system into the 914. Thank you |

They do fit, Airbox and all. THe mount you are using may prevent that. I used the Naro style mount. I have since converted to triple webers but it fit.
The builder before me that had it on CIS did notch a very small area for the fuel distributor fuel line to clear. It was minor. There is another member here with a white car (can't remember his darn name, in the San Diego, CA area that has one that is extremely well done). CIS airbox and all. |

Thanks for all the replies.
My CIS is the most complex and takes up a lot of space. Does anyone have experience installing this exact type of CIS in a 914? Attached thumbnail(s) |

There are a few guys that have factory CIS in their cars with 6s. I some how remember that a couple of them had ground down the rubber boot in the area that I have shown in green for clearance for the Eng lid. Just a old memory I have for what it is worth. I believe @ VegasRacer has one in his Elvira car with a 3.0
I hope this will help it was just around 3/8. If that boot leaks, the car will not start Best Bob B ![]() |

I have almost your same engine in my 914 (1974 2.7 CIS). To me it looks like you have the correct fuel distributor to just barely fit without cutting the trunk firewall (see picture above). Hopefully you already know that you will need to cut off the trunk latch part in the engine compartment (not just the latch that unbolts but the whole thing), engine won’t fit other wise. Please feel free to reach out with any questions, I can send you the wiring diagram I made to make the engine plug and play with 914 wiring harness and 2.7 engine harness Nate Attached thumbnail(s) |

Also I am running the mad dog mount with my 2.7 CIS engine. Set the mount as low as you can. The one issue I do see with yours is that grey elbow coming off the black rubber “peanut” boot, mine doesn’t have that and it looks like it might be in the way. Might have to see if you can eliminate that somehow and go with earlier style boot

The NARO mount moves the engine 0.50" forward and 0.825" downward - maybe this give you the clearance you need. You would need to find an uninstalled NARO mount which should be possible.
