4 pieces came in the kit from Auto Atlanta: $225 plus $83 shipping (kinda high) With this steel fuel line kit I received 4 lines, two long that go through the body, one seems to be slightly bigger, must be supply and the other long line slightly smaller must be return.. watched all the videos on-line and that make sense how they go after removing most of the interior and carpet and opening two access points I think we have that figured out. now the other smaller steel lines that we assume connect in the engine compartment through the body under the battery tray through the body along the firewall those two lines we received are not differed sizes, the only difference is one is about 3 inches longer and has one extra bend. It doesn't make sense now we have to figure some kind of adaption or did they send us one wrong size line, I looked on Tangerine racing website and they have some kind of adaptor kit is that something we need or do I just have the wrong size small steel lines?? <br>
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() So my initial goal was just to do a refresh, not re-biuld and we are pretty close to sticking the motor and trans back in after replacing every seal and every hose known to mankind, especially since we are keep the factory FI. its a lot of hoses and claps, sending out the injectors for service and more but I digress, that's 90% done So it was suggested by many at least inspect if not replace the nylon and rubber fuels that run through the body to the tank and fuel pump in the front of the car and two steel lines in the firewall area.. Now before everyone gets on me about where I bought my parts, I still work for a living I'm not retired, not rich and I've never done this before. Now being a busy small business owner it just made sense to buy most of my parts from one supplier rather then source parts all over the internet and have multiple orders to keep track of. So I went with Auto Atlanta. I realize I'm over paying for a lot of stuff but they seemed to be knowledge and had or could get most everything we needed and are easy to contact.. The fuel line kit was great with a diagram and hoses all cut nice and specific I was very pleased.. |

$83 shipping from Georgia to Florida is insane! I ordered mine from Tangerine Racing. When I first got my 914 I ordered parts from them. Half were the wrong item and had to be sent back, shipping to New Jersey was outrageous. So I started ordering from other venders and never looked back.

Those SS fuel 'hoses' look OK to me. They have the nice bubbled ends which other suppliers do not.
See the attached fuel pump area diagram, depicting the original nylon hoses with OD measurements. 10mm supply, 8mm return through the forward firewall. The two 8mm 'hoses' through the engine shelf are 8mm, where the transition in the supply line occurs before the fuel filter. A factory rubber reducing hose is available as indicated (PN 91435652500), Tangerine has produced the SS version of that as an excellent replacement alternative solution. Attached image(s) ![]() |

There’s a couple good write ups (and at least one video) on how to install the lines but my tip is this. Install the tunnel lines now, before the engine install, and figure the rest out later. Once the tunnel lines are in, the rest will make more sense. Maybe you need an adapter, maybe not. No big deal. Chris at tangerine racing is a very knowledgeable resource.
The easiest way to install the tunnel lines: Install the grommets in the firewalls. Lube the entire metal line with wd40 or light oil. Slide the lines in and use a second person inside the car as a spotter. Give them a light and they will make sure it goes through the front bulkhead and not get tangled in the clutch or accelerator cables. With a spotter, it will take 5-10 minutes. |

Thanks for the help I didn't realize but now I do even though I purchased the SS fuel lines for Auto Atlanta the are actually made by Chris at Tangerine Racing he explained the difference and was super helpful and is sending me the right adapter..
There are two different types, the early with fuel pump in back and later with fuel pump up front, I happen to have in my titled 1974 with a 1.7L which maybe the confusion that motor may not have come in the car.. but I have a fuel pump up front.. None the lest Chris from Tangerine Racing is going to sell me the right parts and take my lone 9mm back as a return, so hopefully this will all work out I'll keep you all posted.. Thanks |
