Original Scheel racing bucket seats for sale. I believe they are model 330 for your 914-6 GT or tribute car. All original vinyl and corduroy, with logo badges, and seat tracks. Good shape but seat pad foam is tired and there are a few small blemishes. Seat track levers are in the front which makes me think they are for a 914 versus a 911. There are no recline adjustments because they are race buckets. I am not a Scheel seat expert so some details could be inaccurate. The seats have been in dry storage for 30+ years, so no smells or vermin. I think if the foam was replaced in the cushions these would be a strong 8 out of 10 condition. I have researched the desirability of these seats and current BAT prices, but I willing to have a conversation if my price is out of line. This is my first ever post on 914 World, so I hope I am doing this correctly. I am a 40-year Porsche owner. Asking 5K OBO.

Not to be harsh on you, but the price seems way to high for used and tired seats. These appear to be Scheel 101 seats. They dont have the slot for a racing harness, so they are basic seats.

Scheel sells the seats brand new for right around $3600 for a pair. That being said, you might want to adjust the asking price accordingly.

Good luck with your sale.

It is hard to say exactly what model Scheel these are from the photos Some are more desirable than others.

I suggest that you try to contact Uwe in Europe. He is an expert on vintage Scheel seats. He posts regularly on Pelican and 911s registry under a couple of different names. He posts regularly here also. His email - 911porsche912@gmx.de

Nice seats. GLWTS

Pictures of the bottom of the seats (upsidedown) will also help identify.

Hello,

Thank you for kind feedback and the SME contact information. These are the photos taken when the seats were directly removed from storage. I have since wiped off the dust and vacuumed them off and the seat look pretty nice. The seats are in a different physical location, so I will try to update with new photos shortly. Frankly, I am not entirely sure of their value. I used the BaT sales below and there are also some on eBay as a reference. These seats are unrestored and all original which means something to a lot of folks. As mentioned in the ad, I am willing to accept offers. I am trying to sell the seats for my son so we can finish the motor for his 914 2.0. The seats are in Rochester, NY. Cheers!

Yes, some models were tubular steel frames and some were fiberglass shells (the 300 model). I don’t think your prices are way off. I’ve had a bunch of Scheel seats and I’ve always sold them too cheap. Repros are $1500-2k each and restoring real ones cost the same as repros. Yours look like they are in very good condition. I’m no expert on them but as was suggested earlier, Uwe is.

I deeply appreciate your input on the seats and will go in the morning to take more pics. I have attached a picture of the back of the seat that show some interesting support protrusions. These seats need no work minus having some new foam added in the seat padding. I will contact Uwe when I have the new pictures. Thank you!

Just for reference: This is the Scheel that was my driver’s seat in my 6 when I got it

Those protrusions are the mount tubes for the headrests

These look like your basic Scheel 300. Great seat for your vintage 911 and a matching pair can demand a nice premium. If they are 300’s they are a bit large for a full interior 914. May possibly be the very rare 314, very similar to the 300 but overall smaller made specifically for the 914. In which case score for you!! Their rarity commands a definite premium

Might want to post them on Pelican or early S registry with better pics.

I’m pretty sure the 114 was the 914 specific model and had headrests like a 914 seat. I’m guessing it’s the model Bob posted.

Thank you for the great info! I'll take some better pics in the morning of the seats on all sides. I have some stock 914 seats right next to the Scheel seats that I can measure and use for comparison and side-by-side pics. There are plastic plugs in the headrest holes that look stock, so I don't think these seats ever had headrests. Stay tuned! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

You have a better chance of selling to the 911 guys. Pelican and early 911sreg is where I would recommend listing.

Here’s a pic of the 314. Looks just like a 300 but about 20% smaller

Not sure if all of them were fabric or if some were vinyl. Your sliders look similar to these

When comparing stock to a 300 you will find that the 300 slider mounts are about 1 1/2” wider than stock. I would think the 314 slider spacing will match stock.

I guess I may have spoken a little prematurely. The others who provided input have more background and direct knowledge and their opinions are ones I personally respect. I apologize if I might have misled you.

I'd second that. I had a really nice pair of Scheels that I had listed on 914world. Sold them in a matter of hours to a 911 "R Gruppe" member on the Pelican 911 Parts Classifieds.

I deeply appreciate all the advice and counsel on these seats. I did a few measurements, and these appear to be 911 seats versus the 914 variant. Please see the picture comparing the two underside bases (Scheel vs. OG 914 seat). I also measured the base seat cushion of the Scheel seat and compared it to an early 911 seat, and the width of them is roughly the same. The construction appears to be the fiberglass shell version. I believe these seats are Scheel 300 Racing Seats, circa 1968ish. I will list the seats on some of the other Porsche type sites and report back when they are sold. Thanks again for the feedback!
