I'd like to put in two Corbeau seats (they seem to be the best fit). Any of you put in any Corbeaus (any seats, really)? How did you mount them such that they fit?

I am a 38 waist size...I don't think I need a wide seat. I do have the stock 70 interior, which is still an option to spiff up and put in.
TIA
Pat

depends on the style of the Corbeau seat, i had a set and being 6'1'' but 31'' waist, the set i had was really tight for me side to side so if you are a 38" waist, unless its all up front, its going to be really tight fit for you i think, and the bottom cusion too thick i sat too high,
they fit my friend who is 5'8'' 27'' waist and about 140#, and they fit him perfect. so it depends on which model seat.

as far as mounting them i had to get their conversion brackets to bold the 914 sliders onto as the seat base mount holes don't line up .

Post some pictures if you have some.

These fit existing sliders if memory serves. Maybe minor drilling to help line up. Put these in my old car years ago.

At one time I had Corbeau seats in my 914. The adapter brackets made the seat sit higher and I had to cut the seat cushion foam in half, so my helmet wouldn't hit the roof. JW at Ottos (RIP) shortened the stock seat bracket so the Corbeau seat could mount to it directly. He then bolted the stock seat bracket directly to the floor. This dramatically improved the height clearance. I still have the mount, but only for the drivers side.

We're a Corbeau authorized dealer. The brackets are flat (and 914 guy cheap). (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Call if you need anything.

Yep, Eric you are correct. The brackets are only 1/4" thick. They just sat higher than a stock seat. It was easy to take the foam out of the bottom cushion and put something thinner in its place for AutoX and put the original foam back in for daily driving. Nice seats for the price. They also now have lots of options besides the Forza, so maybe the other seats might sit lower?

By using a flat bar across the stock runners, the seats sit too high IMHO. To mount the Cobra RSR seats in my car I made cross braces which are 'stepped down' about 20mm and then bolt to the stock runners, which I'd removed from the original seats.
